Update on the Kids

Becca Leigh

Wow ... she is growing so much! She is almost nine years old and in the third grade! Becca is doing great in G.T. They recently went to Tech to observe an archaeological site. They got to go in the restricted area and look at bones. She also learned about the Indians. They have also done an "invention". She did the "Badazzler". It is a machine where you put your plain cloths in and when they come out, they are badazzled (that is how she spelled it) ... meaning they are sparkly or have jewels on them. Becca just recently signed up for P.I.P.S. (Players in Progress). She will be performing and showing off her basketball skills at many of the Varsity Mustang basketball games. She is super excited about it. You would be surprised at how coordinated she is! We have not put her back in gymnastics yet ... it is because of her mother's procrastination, but hopefully she and Maddi will be starting soon. Becca still has a crush on Brandon McGee ... same boy from last year. He asked her to sit by her at a football game a few weeks ago. Chip and I are okay with her having this crush ... only until they decide to start talking to each other and he wants to hold her hand ... then I am sure the "relationship" will end ;-) For Halloween she is going to be a Geisha princess ... she is absolutely beautiful and we will post pics when we can.

Maddilyn

Oh my Maddi monster! She is so precious ... almost FOUR years old! She is growing up way to fast too!! Maddi is going to school Tuesday and Thursdays at the Methodist Church. They have a great Mother Goose program. This next Tuesday her class is traveling to Lubbock to go to the corn maze. They will learn about the corn and how it is grown and go through half of the maze. I am probably going to ... that is a blessing that I am at home right now and can do these special things with her. On Wednesday's she goes to Team Kid. It is like a pre-youth group at our church, First Baptist. I teach her class, the three and four year olds. I love it and so does she. Maddi's best friend is still Hudson. I will try and put a picture up of those two ... they are awesome together. Hudson is just a few months younger than her and he is so stinkin cute! Maddi is going to be a Hippie Chick for Halloween. She picked it out herself and she is precious! Maddi is still really into movies ... right now it is Tarzan and the Jungle Book. She drew a picture of Chip the other day and to our amazement it kind of looks like him!! She is definitely the most strong-willed of the three, but always a mama's girl!

Preston

My sweet David Preston. I can tell you already that he is more like Maddi than Becca. He has the same sweet spirit as both of them though! OH .. and he is about to walk! Just ten months old and he can stand alone (when he doesn't realize he's doing it). Preston has four teeth and just cut two more. He gets them two at a time, but is a tough boy about it. He doesn't complain much. He is hilarious! He LOVES music ... he stands up, bounces his knees, and bobs his head when he hears music. His favorite thing right now it to get into the kitchen drawers. He now has two drawers designated just for him. We took out all of the sharp and heavy things and he just plays with the rest. Needless to say we have all almost busted on the ground tripping on kitchen utensils. He loves his sisters and dada and mama! He is precious!! Preston is saying dada, mama, baba, nana, and makes so many funny noises! Hopefully I can get a video on this for your enjoyment! OH ... this little boy is all boy for sure! He is still called "pretty" though ... it is because he is with those big blue eyes! Preston is going to be a monkey for Halloween and I must say it suits him perfectly! Just the other day he climbed on top of the opened dishwasher door. He has almost flipped himself over into the girls bathtub too. He is so strong. He can lift himself almost completely off the floor ... he can already do pull-ups! I can't decide if I am ready for him to start walking ... he is just growing so fast!!
